Brett Bradford (D, Stringtown) was elected county commissioner in 2006.  Prior to becoming a commissioner, he was a timber contractor.  He says he is a "devout" democrat and a devoted husband, father and Christian

Harold W. Delay (D, Caney) was elected county commissioner in 1999.  Prior to becoming commissioner, he ran a car dealership in Atoka.

COMMISSIONER, DISTRICT 2

Gilbert Wilson (D, Crystal) was elected county commissioner in 1997.  Prior to becoming commissioner, he was self-employed.  He says he is a "yellow-dog" democrat and he loves his county, wife and children, and God.

SHERIFF

Gary McCool (D, Lane) was elected sheriff in 1989.  Prior to becoming sheriff, he worked as a welder.  He is President of the Southeast District of Oklahoma Sheriff's Association.  He is an avid deer and coyote hunter and bass fisherman. 

With 18 consecutive years of service as Sheriff, he has one of the longest tenures in Oklahoma history.
COUNTY TREASURER

Richard Lillard was elected county treasurer in 1975.  Prior to becoming county treasurer, he sold auto parts.
COUNTY ASSESSOR

Nancy Hill (D, Atoka) was appointed county assessor in 1991.  She was elected to the post in 1993.  She had worked in the county assessor's office for a year before her appointment.   Prior to that she was employed by the OSU Research Center at Lane.
COUNTY CLERK

Raylene Hammond (D, Lane) was appointed county clerk in 2003 and elected in 2004.  Prior to becoming clerk, she served as deputy clerk for over 25 years.  She has spent her entire working career in county government.

COURT CLERK

Barbara Hunt (D, Atoka) was appointed court clerk in 2003.  She was elected to the position in 2004.  She has worked in the court clerk's office since March, 1995 and has worked in county government off and on since graduating from high school.
ELECTION BOARD SECRETARY

Kathie Jones (D, Atoka) was appointed election board secretary in 1992.  Before becoming election board secretary, she worked with her husband in their Ford dealership.
